Listen to some new late-night waves from Lucki: "Speed Demon."

Chicago's impish drug experimenter Lucki, fka Lucki Eck$, hasn't been quite as prolific as he was last year, but with every drop, he proves himself to be in a sonic territory that's completely his own. On his latest track, "Speed Demon" -- faster paced than his usual ambient-leaning material, Lucki busts out a sinister deadpan flow over a chilled but menacing late-night beat from his frequent producers PLU2O and Meech.

He maintains a loose, improvisational style while still keeping a firm handle on the song's tempo -- his idea of the "Freewave" that he's known for. In fact, with the new track, Lucki has announced an upcoming project titled FREEWAVE, set to drop on August 18. He already released a FREEWAVE EP -- made up of 10 "Freewave" freestyles -- last October, so it's expected that his upcoming project will be similar in makeup but still totally innovative sound-wise.
