Toronto has many exciting voices at the moment, and a lot are playing around with the r'n'b genre. Just yesterday we received a new record from one of those faces, River Tiber. Louis Val is a new singer we came across on Soundcloud who's in a similar lane, bending his vocals and songwriting skills over experimental r'n'b, often resulting in something melancholic and vibe-y (for lack of a better descriptor).
Today we're excited to introduce him to the HNHH audience by way of our premiere of his latest record, "Dismissive." Produced by CVRE, who also handles two other records on Louis' Soundcloud, this one bridges the gap of r'n'b and light electronic music, it's almost house-like. Louis' high-pitched vocals don't provide too many lyrics on this particular record, instead they repeat and weave in and out of the heartbeat-mimicking production.
Louis is preparing a new project, and sent along this statement about this record: "Out of all the songs I had in the stash, I decided to let this one go, mainly because I wanted to set the mood for my upcoming project and just show consistency. I believe in music that makes you dance and feel alive and I feel like not a lot of people my age or from my ends like making music that would have people dancing and being happy its always so gloomy and shit, I can’t really knock anyone for that because that was me before I found my voice. This song talks about how everything feels like a drag especially when you finally acquire the person you desire, you just feel unsatisfied regardless how much effort she puts in."
Keep an eye out for this dude, I know we will be.

You're just as cold as your city
