In December 2014, when his relationship with Cash Money began to fully break down, Lil Wayne claimed that the label was refusing to release Tha Carter V. According to a new report from TMZ, Wayne is in sole possession of the Tha Carter V master recordings and won't hand them over to Birdman and Cash Money until he gets paid.
During a recent interview with Skip Bayless, Wayne explained that the comments he made earlier this month, in which he described himself as "mentally defeated," referred to Birdman. "I have a family. I have kids. I have a mother. We got bills. This is just business," he told Bayless. "Once the business is right, everything is right."
Birdman is notorious for not paying anyone. It's a business strategy that has helped him become a very rich man. Wayne's $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money, filed nearly two years ago, is still pending.
