Birdman refuses to release Lil Wayne from his Cash Money contract, but is Weezy already plotting a move to sign with Jay Z.
During his performance at Camp Flog Gnaw over the weekend, he threw up the Roc-a-Fella diamond at the beginning of "I'm Me" and switched out "I’m a motherfucking Cash Money millionaire" in favor of “I’m a motherfucking Roc-A-Fella millionaire."
This is not the first time Wayne has altered a lyric to address his label situation. He changed the last line of his verse in "No Problem" while performing the song alongside Chance the Rapper on 'Ellen' two months ago, rapping "And if Cash Money tries to stop me, I'mma let 'em rob me, yeah right, like Ryan Lochte."
This is also not the first time Wayne has hinted that he's signing to the Roc. Last year, during his performance at Oakland's Summer Jam, he proclaimed, “I just signed a deal with my motherfucking idol Jay Z!” It turned out he was referring to his contract with TIDAL.
Is Wayne signing with Roc Nation, the current iteration of Roc-a-Fella? While it may be a false alarm, Infamous, a Miami-based producer who has a history with Wayne, said the altered lyric was “not that random.”
