Veteran producer StreetRunner is at it again, releasing another finely mastered version of an unreleased Lil Wayne track, recorded when Weezy was in his prime. The gift StreetRunner has dropped off today is a remastered edition of Wayne's "Do It Again," one of the many tracks that leaked online shortly before the release of 2008's The Carter III.
As has been the case with all of StreetRunner's exclusive reissues this year -- including "Cry Out (Amen)," "Trouble," and "Let's Talk It Over" -- "Do It Again" should be a nostalgic and joyous listen for all fans who grew up with the unforeseen stylings of Dwayne Carter, Jr. It's also a reminder of the romantic territory Wayne was wont to veer into all those years ago. The beat is built off a pitched-up sample of a song of the same title by '70s R&B group New Birth.
Spark one up and enjoy the latest TBT offering from Weezy and StreetRunner.
Quotable Lyrics
She so brightened up my day
Put it on the scripture, she would be the picture
If perfect had a face, I promise you homie
You would be hungry like me if you had a taste
