Nike's has kept all details regarding LeBron James' 14th signature sneaker, the LeBron 14, under wraps until today when the man himself donned the kicks during Cleveland's shoot around.
Unfortunately for those looking to catch a glimpse of LBJ's upcoming signature shoes, he took them off before members of the press could come in and leak some images to the public. However, ESPN's Dave McMenamin was on hand and recalled that the all-black LeBron 14s featured a strap, although LeBron made him promise not to snap a photo.
Here's McMenamin's statement about the mysterious LeBron 14.
“LeBron James wore an all black pair of the yet-to-be-released Nike LeBron 14 to shootaround Thursday but took them off before talking to the press so reporters couldn’t snap photos of them. They don’t look like the images that leaked in August at all. James let ESPN.com inspect them, as long as we promised not to take a photo, and they are very sharp. One clue to what to expect when they drop in January: strap.”
IMHO, LeBron's signature line has taken a dive ever since the LeBron 9 but the mystique behind this pair definitely has me intrigued to see what Nike has in store for the LeBron 14.
The Cavs will play host to the Clippers tonight on TNT and there's a chance that LeBron will be debuting the LeBron 14s which is even more of a reason to tune in.
