Lais is back today with a new record, as he prepares for the release of his EP 114-- although not without a few stumbling blocks along the way. The Toronto native told us via e-mail that his producer's laptop and back-up drive were stolen, resulting in the loss of (most of) his EP's contents. Fortunately, he's been able to re-record the majority of the music he lost within a short period of time, so the EP will still be dropping very soon (how soon exactly, we cannot tell you). On top of that, he says the music sounds even better the second time around. Bless up.
For today, we get a drug lover's anthem-- and there's no beating around the bush, Lais is to-the-point with it. It's perfect for that 5 AM comedown. Lais provides his usual dose of cryptic crooning, a middle ground between rapping and singing and plain ol' talking.
If you missed it, Lais spit a dope exclusive for us when he came to our NYC studio the other month. Check out "Sometimes."
Quotable Lyrics
Giving no fucks I got nothing to prove
Drugs is just drugs, it's just something to do
If I don't got you I got nothing to lose
I'm barely here, I'm barely there
I barely care, blowing money just to make it clear
