South London duo Krept & Konan have been collaborating with some North American talent recently, successfully getting the attention of audiences overseas with the Rick Ross-assisted "Certified," and most recently, "Freak Of The Week," which paired them with sought-after hitmakers Jeremih and DJ Mustard.
Today, the latter gets another boost, tapping into the dancehall roots of the record by adding verses from two generations of voices from the genre-- Beenie Man and Popcaan. In case you weren't aware, the original beat is an interpolation of Beenie Man's 90s hit, "Who Am I," so he's essentially adding another vocal to his own song. Meanwhile, Popcaan proves why he's the most interesting man in the dancehall right now, stealing the show with his contribution.
Krept & Konan's debut LP, The Long Way Home, hits U.S. stores July 10th.
Quotable Lyrics:
Say you got a man, you don't seem sure
Showing off your skin, I wanna see more
We can take a little detour
Have you ever ate McDonalds on a G4?
You got your keys to my beep beep
They ain't doing it right, come and see me
I can tell that you're freaky
And I know you ain't shy like Chief Keef
