Yesterday, emerging L.A. emcee KR was fired from his job for requesting the day off so he could appear on MTV's Rap Fix Live (along with ScHoolboy Q, Vado and Vic Mensa). "Rap Niggas" is the result, recorded both out of anger and a renewed sense of determination.
The cut, soundtracked by Atlanta producer Natural Disaster, is "a taste of what's to come", that being KR's upcoming mixtape I$0Lyf3 3. He dropped a new visual for "FYP" yesterday, a choice selection from i$0Lyf3 2; before that was the January single "Off The Record", which you can stream and/or download here.
As mentioned, KR's preparing to set out on an eight-city tour across the U.S. with rising Chicago rapper Alex Wiley, beginning in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Friday, February 28th.
Stay tuned, and hit the young lord with a follow on Twitter and / or Instagram while you're at it: @WhoKR.
Quotable Lyrics
I'm God's gift, and my wisdom's guarded
With knowledge that brought me into the game
With the pain of a thousand mamas
Who lost they kid to the grave
