"In a world full of cheesecake rappers, one man has assembled a phenomenal team to bring you madness."
So begins the official artist statement for Kool Keith's 22nd studio album Feature Magnetic, which is due out next month. Keith, 49, is one of hip hop's great eccentric mind, and he taps a kindred (free) spirit in MF Doom to spit on the album's third single, "Super Hero." Keith and Doom treat words like a toddler treats playdough -- as an amorphous, endlessly customizable goop that is such a natural medium of self-expression that it is a end unto itself.

Quotable Lyrics
The media say I'm mature, check me out on Wikipedia
Coach them off their walkers
Let them walk again and run and speed up
I come from a place where superheroes meet up
The X Men drinkin' tea watchin' chicks with D cups
Spiderman saw Doctor Oct spittin' on top of a New York City bus
City Island eatin' shrimps
Throwin' fries in water to swans and ducks
