Kirko Bangz burst onto the scene and became a seemingly overnight star with his infectious H-Town friendly "Drank In My Cup", and is now looking to continue with the momentum while he prepares his studio album. Talking to XXL he talks about his LP and the vibe he looks to have, which will be similar to his breakout single. The Houston rapper also says that several records are already completed saying that off his previous mixtapes he always put aside the best, most "deep" songs. Also talks about when fans can expect the album to drop.
Talking about singles and records already completed Kirko says, "I got a lot of records done for the album already. We shooting towards that..I’ma give people what they always get with Kirko Bangz. I have records like 'Keep It Trill,' 'Drank in My Cup,' and then also have records like I had on my mixtape like 'The Vent,' reflecting on my life."
He says fans will get a good dose of both party and introspective records, "It’s gonna be a lot deeper than people have heard from me in the past. I feel like the album is really just time for me to tell my story and let people know who I really am." As he has been putting aside those joints specifically for his studio release, "A lot of my real deep records, real quality records, I’ve been holding ’em for the album. All the time that I had mixtapes, I had one or two big, quality records, and the rest was mixtape stuff. But I’m holding those records, so when the album come, everybody be like, He really is a artist."
Discussing when fans can expect the album to drop Kirko says there is no set release date, but he wants it in the early part of the new year, "I don’t really know. I’m just working. But sometime in the top of 2013," and adds there is no title yet for the project.
