Despite bus troubles trying to hold them back, Run The Jewels had the crazy coincidence of playing in Saint Louis, Missouri the day of the Grand Jury announcement in Ferguson, a town just miles away.
Beginning by saying the jury's decision to not indict Officer Darren Wilson "kicked [me] on my ass," Mike delivered an emotional sermon during which he expressed fear for his young sons' lives. His voice rose in anger and sadness, and cracked when he began crying midway through.
After speaking his piece, Mike and El-P launched into their eponymous track, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Run The Jewels' message has always been powerful, but rises to take on even more importance in the wake of last night's announcement: it's us against the machine.
