At the beginning of the summer, Kid Cudi revealed his plans to drop two albums in the remainder of 2016. He wanted to release the first, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin', which he had already finished recording, in the summer. No albums have arrived yet, but earlier tonight, Cudi tweeted, "Albums finished." The tweet was attached to a picture of a smiling Usain Bolt on his way to comfortably win tonight's race and take gold.
Cudi followed up by announcing that he'll be sharing a release date as well as other details regarding at least one of the albums this upcoming week. After offering heartfelt words of thanks to his fans, he tweeted, "Launch." It's looking like a good time to be a Cudi fan.
Earlier this year, Cudi had named Travis Scott and Pharrell Williams as two of the guest artists to appear on Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin', as noted by Complex. He also said that the album would include contributions from producer Dot Da Genius, whom Cudi recently defended against his soon-to-be ex-wife, Jhene Aiko, and her alleged lover (perhaps Big Sean).
