Texas up-and-comer Khalid is getting ready to release his debut album American Teen in March. Today he's shared a new release from the project called Locked Down." Accompanied by keys and live drums, Khalid delivers a sparse, but soaring ballad that displays the emotional force of the 18-year-old's voice.
Khalid just starred in a new Fader documentary where he and his mother detail their time spent roaming as a military family, as well as focusing on the influence of the singer's hometown El Paso, Texas on his music. You can watch the film here. American Teen is set for a March 3rd release.
Quotable Lyrics:
You've been here before, surrounded in the cold
You take me to places I've never known
And you push me to places I'll never go
I would die for you
Tell me the truth
Am I all that you would need?
