Kendrick Lamar's "HUMBLE." is the rapper's highest-charting solo single ever, and it's only the first week. The song, which was shared along with its inventive video on March 30th, debuts at no. 2 on the Hot 100 Monday. It is the highest debut for a rap song since Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" in 2010.
Lamar previously landed a no. 1 on the Hot 100 with his feature on Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" remix in 2015. Last week, his recent release "The Heart Part 4" debuted at 22 on the chart. Previous to "HUMBLE.," his highest-charting song as a lead artist was "Swimming Pools," which reached no. 17 in 2012. However, he has 3 previous top ten singles in featuring roles (including "Bad Blood.")
The song precedes Kendrick Lamar's still-untitled album, which is set to arrive this Friday, April 14th.
