There's no doubt Kendrick Lamar been having a great year thusfar. Earlier this week he covered Rolling Stone magazine and today it's announced that Kendrick Lamar will be performing at the Video Music Awards. Kendrick joins a slew of other great artists this year performing at the annual award show amongst The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Fifth Harmony and much more. It should be a great performance on Kendrick's part, he's known for being able to put on a pretty spectacular live show. This will be the first time the Compton rapper will be performing at the Video Music Awards.

MTV put out an eight second clip on their Twitter account to put everyone on notice. With clips of "Humble." edited into a short clip with the word "live" above it on a space-themed background, MTV's aware that he'll be putting on a stand-out performance that evening.

The rapper is not only performing but is also nominated for eight VMA awards, putting him in the lead for most nominations that evening. It's not all that shocking considering the impact his last album, "DAMN." had as well as the stunning visuals he has put out for each of his singles. Kendrick is nominated for Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Hip Hop, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, and Best Choreography.
