Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole seem to have a lot in common. The rappers, frequently cited as two of the best in the game, are apparently working on a joint album together, and now we learn that they're both engaged to their longtime girlfriends. We got news of Cole's engagement to Melissa Heholt back in January, and today Lamar confirmed that he proposed to Whitney Alford, who he's been dating for several years and is pictured above.
Explaining his relationship with his fiance on The Breakfast Club this morning, Lamar said:
“I’m loyal to the soil. At the end of the day you want to always have real people around you period. Everybody that’s been around me has been down since day one and I can’t change that. I don’t change for nobody. I always show respect when respect is being given and people that’s been by your side, you supposed to honor that. That’s how you stand up.”
