Kavale is a rising artist from Toronto, and a former HNHH Heatseeker. In the time since he last graced the site in 2014, he’s worked tirelessly on perfecting his craft. The result is a refined sound not unlike fellow Toronto artist Tory Lanez, although Kavale skews much further on the rap side of things compared to his falsetto-using counterpart.
“West Drive” is the first single from his upcoming project Carpe Diem, “a tale of distant lovers separated by two cities, the thought of being together is what keeps the lust alive,” as Kavale describes it. Pierre-Alain produced the instrumental, a crossover that skillfully blends a soaring R&B chorus with harder-edged trap sounds. The video (below) transforms the Toronto artist’s story into multicolored neon silhouettes, created by visual artist Angela Estelle.
Are y'all feeling the growth Kavale has made?
Quotable Lyrics
I need to get you out in front of me
feeling on you, that's a luxury
all these bitches wants some, but I got one
they get none of me
