Kanye West has been known to fill the executive producer role on some big albums, including Jay Z's Blueprint 3, Pusha T's My Name Is My Name, Big Sean' Dark Sky Paradise, and most recently Rihanna's upcoming R8. It's clear that Ye has a knack for curating sounds, and thus he's been tapped to play the exec role in a new drama called "Underground". The show will take place during a time of slavery in America, following a group of men and women who are attempting to escape from the trade through the Underground Railroad.
It will be interesting to see whether Kanye takes more of a classic score approach for the show, or whether he'll be recruiting current artists to contribute. Either way, West will likely make sure to take the form into new territory.

“Underground” follows a group of slaves who plan a daring escape from a Georgia plantation to cross 600 miles to freedom, aided along the way by a secret abolitionist couple running a station on the Underground Railroad, as they evade those tasked with bringing them back, dead or alive.
