Kanye West is planning to gradually tweak his album, The Life Of Pablo, indefinitely, and while we await further changes to the constantly moving project, West seems to have provided something of an accompaniment to the album on SoundCloud today. Wishing his followers a "Happy Easter," Ye premiered "Ultralight Prayer," which feels similar to "Low Lights" in that it is driven entirely by a sampled vocal, but anyone who is familiar with the album by this point will recognize that it is a fuller version of the gospel sample found on "Ultralight Beam".
The dramatic melodies from the opening track on the project are present throughout (Kirk Franklin and Kelly Price's voices are both here as well), but now the prayer is at the song's center, making for a bit of extra reading attached to the record. Should this have been on the album proper?
Quotable Lyrics:
This prayer is for everyone
That feels they're not good enough
This prayer's for everybody
That feels they're too messed up
For everyone that feels
They've said "I'm sorry" too many times
Let them know that's why you took the nail
So we could have eternal life
