There are plenty of rappers singing out in Atlanta, but we haven't seen too many breakout RnB acts over the last few years. K-Major is happy to occupy that currently vacant lane, getting some of the city's most sought-after producers to work at slower tempos and building a sound that's as fresh as it is familiar.
Warm keys and stuttering high hats work together on Major's new record, "Shut It Down," and while it has big shoes to fill with its title (it shares a name with Drake and The-Dream's Thank Me Later slow jam), we're not left disappointed, as August Alsina joins the party to create a duet that's just as memorable as its predecessor.
Quotable Lyrics:
You bad as hell
So that new smile get you a new purse
Let's take shots out of this Ciroc bottle
You shoot first
I just walk up on you, smack that ass
And say 'truth hurts'
You just look back and say 'do it again'
With that cute smirk
