Justin Bieber has been showing off his acting chops lately. Last year he killed his short cameo in Zoolander 2 and was just featured in a hilarious T-Mobile commercial with Patriots' tight end Rob Gronkowski and legendary wide receiver Terrell Owens.
Now it looks like he is taking his skills into the international market as a behind-the-scenes video has surfaced of the Purpose singer recording a commercial for Japanese brand Softbank. Bieber stars in the commercial with viral Japanese Youtube star Piko-Taro, the creator of Bieber's favorite video on the internet "Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen." It looks like this promotional spot was a long time in the making as Bieber tweeted Taro's video last September to declare how much he loved it.
In the footage below the singer is speaking Japanese, pretty well at that, and receiving a warm welcome from students and Taro himself. Though there is an obvious language barrier here, you can tell that the love is mutual.
Check out the posts and videos below and stay tuned for the full commercial with Justin Bieber and Piko-Taro soon.
