JR Writer was released from jail three days ago after serving a bid lasting nearly two years -- 21 months and 27 days to be exact. Yesterday, he swung by Ebro in the Morning to discuss music, jail, and his new found freedom with Ebro, Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez.
While Writer admitted that jail took a toll on him, he considers the bid a "blessing in disguise."
"I got to recreate myself, mentally, physically," he said. "I went ahead, got my diploma. I was reading, writing, working out. I'm in a different space now."
The 30-year-old rapper is best known for his work with Dipset, and now has a movement of his own called Thunda.
The first thing he at as a free man? KFC. Watch the full 12-minute interview above.
