Taylor Gang member and Chicago rapper J.R. Donato is preparing for the release of a project called Why So Serious?, inspired by Heath Ledger's The portrayal of The Joker. After releasing the project's first song "Trap Never Closed" last month, Donato returns this morning with "Trust No More," a sobering reflection on the negatives that come with success, in an HNHH premiere.
"This song is about temporary people and temporary relationships," Donato told HNHH by email. "I had a situation with some family shit, and there were those who supported me, and those who didn't. I strayed away from the trap sound on 'Trust No More' and just made music about my life experiences, 'cause I have a lot on my mind sometimes. I thought about all types of stuff I was going through, made a hook, and laid it down."
Listen to "Trust No More" and stay tuned for new music from J.R. Donato coming soon.
Quotable Lyrics
I can't really tell if it's lust no more
I don't really wanna give a fuck no more
Shit seems fake, I ain't finna play
I ain't even wanna keep in touch no more
