Ahead of Joe Budden's Some Love Lost album, dropping on November 4th, the NJ spitter has been dropping one-off tracks every week in October that won't appear on the project. We've heard the Tsu Surf and Ransom-assisted "Nothing Changed" and the Crooked I-assisted "Devil In My Room," and now Ransom returns for a repeat performance on "Make A Deal."
Strangely enough, this song's hook interpolates avant-garde British pop artist Kate Bush's track "Running Up That Hill" (one of my personal favorites of hers), whose only previous brush with hip-hop comes from Big Boi voicing his deep love for her music. A dope sample for sure.
Quotable Lyrics:
How could you make a deal without the devil in it
Some people make mistakes and say the devil did it
Life is like a game, 'cause there's different levels in it
You don't beat the board if you're in court and your don't get acquitted
