With his anticipated Mufasa's Way mixtape just around the corner, the Haitian-born, Brooklyn raised, Atlanta-based rapper Jeff Chery has shared the new video to "Family," the buzzing single that he dropped last month. The video finds Jeff taking a breather from his grind in the streets and reflecting on everything that's been haunting him. He lies in a cash-covered hallway and sips Hennessy with the Haitian flag draped above him. He goes on to wave the flag in the middle of downtown Atlanta, while the video continues to return to scenes of him cradling what matters most: his baby boy, to whom his grind is dedicated.
"Family" is evidence of the unrivaled grittiness that Chery brings to the melodic trap world. The song's hypnotic production comes from SM Tracks, and the new "Family" video is directed by Jay Legion.
Mufasa's Way drops on Monday, July 11. Look out for one more exclusive from the Haitian Mufasa before that!
