Just In Case

Damn this hard. New Jazz Cartier: "Just in Case."

After dropping "Lil Wayne" (an excellent tribute that soon became Tunechi's favorite new song) earlier this month, Toronto's Jazz Cartier has decided to close out July with another new track: "Just in Case." As with most everything he's put out, it's produced by Lantz. The track's cover art shows an old painting of a wild and colorful bouquet of flowers, a fitting aesthetic for Jacuzzi La Fleur.

Unlike the artwork, though, "Just in Case" is a piece of pure malice, as Jazz leaves "blood on the leaves," rapping about telling boldface lies and watching his father's worst traits manifest inside of him. The song is also a warning shot to his competition -- those "who run they mouth, but still they pockets out of shape." With his last two drops as well as February's Hotel Paranoia, there are few artists that have matched such a high-quality output this year.

Quotable Lyrics

I'm not an honorable man
I am a liar, I am a cheat
I am becoming my dad
I got some blood on the leaves
I got some blood on my hands
All of my money is dirty
I got some blood on my bands
