Last week we heard that Iggy Azalea's lead single "Fancy" went platinum, and now more good news has come pouring in for the Australian bombshell. Not only is "Fancy" platinum-selling, it has also topped Billboard's Hot 100 chart, which rose from 2-1 this past week. In addition to "Fancy" being at #1, Iggy is featured on Ariana Grande's "Problem" single, which itself rose 2-3 this week-- meaning Iggy occupies the top two slots on the Hot 100.
As Billboard points out, this is a feat that hasn't been accomplished since The Beatles. "Azalea joins the Beatles as the only acts to rank at Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously with their first two Hot 100 hits," Billboard says.
Iggy shared some words on the achievement via Twitter. Read what she had to say below.
"Well I'm very pleased, last year seemed impossible to convince anyone in the music business I could break into the top 100. Haha.So let this serve as proof anything is possible & I hope we see more female rappers new and established in the charts. Dope stuff, thanks!"
