By now, Hudson Mohawke is a seasoned hip-hop producer, signed to the production wing of Kanye West's GOOD Music. He's produced for Drake, Pusha T, and, of course, Yeezy himself. Though, HudMo started his career as a solo artist and stood atop the world of U.K. bass music before he got signed by Kanye. We expect to see him on a few So Help Me God beats, so it's all the more impressive he his own album on the way.
"Very First Breath" is the first single off Lantern, HudMo's upcoming album, and it features vocals by French singer Irfane. In true HudMo fashion, the single boasts overwhelming amounts of bass and screeching synths that'll have your serotonin levels going haywire. Irfane's high-pitched vocals make the track suited for crossover success, though still designed multiple repeats during an all-night rave.
What do you think of HudMo's non-hip-hop production work? Lantern will be out June 16 on Warp Records.
Quotable Lyrics
Somewhere in the mist I can see you
Hanging on a kiss, dreaming of a time gone by
When we would let each other die
Wake up and we would touch the sky
