I'll Be Damned

Hoodrich Pablo Juan established himself as a creative force in ATL trap with his Master Sensei mixtape this summer, and his new track finds him working with two other artists from the area determined to create their own lanes within the style. Lil Yachty and Makonnen trade bars in a round-like formation on "I'll Be Damned," each sharing a few bars before the next rapper in line interjects. Makonnen then does the heavy-lifting on the hook. It's a dizzying mash of styles, but it's all complimentary, and the constant transitions keep the listener guessing throughout. It's an exhilarating set-up, and suggests that these three should probably get together more often.

The song is set to appear on HBJ's upcoming project HoodWolf, which will find him working extensively with Danny Wolf. Wolf has also been collaborating with Makonnen quite regularly, so he may be the one to thank for this collab.
