Anyone who’s been keeping up with the new Atlanta trap scene should be excited for this one. Hoodrich Pablo Juan is still riding high off his Designer Drugz 2 mixtape, and his new single, “How I Feel,” features a high-octane collaboration on the production end. Spiffy Global, who’s had a prolific year working with Pablo and various members of the Quality Control lineup, has gone to TrenchWerk Studio to link up with the duo of Nard & B -- the name beside prime cuts like Future’s “In the Mattress” and Trouble & Fetty’s “Anyway / Everyday.” They spent all day cookin’ up for Pablo, and “How I Feel” is the first track they’ve decided to let loose into the streets.
The new flavors are immediately potent, and "How I Feel" gets off to an electric start when Spiffy drops a blazing synth in sync with some extra mean 808s from Nard & B. It’s a combo that stays alive and unpredictable throughout the song. Pablo Juan doesn’t have any trouble matching the energy of the beat, rattling off stinging punchlines and falling naturally into the memorable hook. He’s got his own effective brand of trap lingo, which should be on full display on his and Spiffy’s upcoming joint tape, Master Sensei. Stay tuned for that.
