The #FutureHive is real. DS2 has slightly surpassed expectations, moving 147,000 equivalent units this week. Proving he is truly an album artist, a respectable 121,000 copies of the album were bought traditionally, making the rapper's semi-surprise album a huge success, landing him his first number one and his biggest sales week yet.
Edging out ASAP Rocky's A.L.L.A. by a mere 1,000 copies, Future has the fourth biggest rap debut of the year (behind Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Meek Mill, respectively). He's also more than doubled the sales of his sophomore album, Honest (which sold 53,000, while Pluto moved only 41,000).
If anything, it's proof that internet hype can translate into IRL sales, and that Future is truly bigger than he's ever been.
