Future has left an indelible imprint on trap music and it's only expanding. His hit "Mask Off" has inspired a social media challenge. Skilled flutists try their best rendition of the iconic sound and post them online.
"Mask Off" producer Metro Boomin sampled it from "Prison Song," a track on Tommy Butler's 1978 musical Selma, a retelling of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life and times. Musicians all over have posted clips of themselves attempting to recreate the catchy tune with various results. Some even include a twerk or a dance with their renditions.
Like other challenges that have sparked online, this one came almost by accident. It proves that Future's new music -- especially "Mask Off"-- has hit a nerve with rap lovers. Both the Future LP and HNDRXX have debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. Check out some of the best post below.
