There are a lot of anticipated projects dropping in November, and Freddie Gibbs just added a big one to that list. Today, Gibbs announced that Shadow of a Doubt, the follow-up to his near-perfect collab album with Madlib, will arrive on November 20. He also shared the album's first track, the Boi-1da and Frank Dukes-produced "Fuckin' Up the Count," with an accompanying video.
The track is a return to Gibbs' grim portrayal of the gang-affiliated lifestyle, and it comes with a harrowing video depicting the entry of two young neighborhood kids into the dope game. They soon learn that their newfound respect comes with serious commitments and that there's no going back. No one's making gangsta rap like Gangsta Gibbs.
