Though they've worked with Drake, much of the hip-hop world was introduced to Francis and the Lights, led by Francis Farewell Starlite, through Chance the Rapper's Coloring Book, as the band produced the Jeremih-featuring "Summer Friends" and contributed to the tracks "All We Got" and "Same Drugs." The group has now unveiled a new piece of its own -- simply called "Friends" -- and it comes with a video starring Kanye West. The track features Bon Iver, who has frequently collaborated with Kanye and to whom Starlite has been compared.
The "Friends" video finds Kanye, Starlite, and Bon Iver dancing in a large open room that could be situated in a modern art museum. It's one of the lazier dances that Kanye has executed, though he certainly looks inspired by the music. In addition to Starlite and Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver), "Friends" was produced by Ariel Rechtshaid, Cashmere Cat, and Benny Blanco.
