Flying Lotus says Kendrick Lamar recorded over 12 or 13 of his beats, but doesn't know if they'll ever "see the light of day."

Kendrick Lamar seems to have taken a liking to Flying Lotus. Since he recruited the avant-garde L.A. beatmaker to help him out with his supporting gigs on the "Yeezus" tour last year, Lamar has made a film with the same guy who worked with FlyLo on his last album (Kahlil Joseph) and announced that he's on a track from You're Dead!, the producer's upcoming album.

Now it seems that Lamar's affinity for FlyLo has leapt to the next level in terms of musical collaboration, as the Brainfeeder label founder just told Pitchfork that Lamar has recently "recorded to a bunch of my songs" and in doing so, hindered the release of his alter-ego (Captain Murphy)'s album.

"...We've been working on stuff together," he said. "I went on tour and he recorded to a bunch of my songs. I don't know if he's gonna use them or not, but he recorded a bunch of stuff, which is why there's no Captain Murphy album out yet. He took all my beats!"

When asked to elaborate, FlyLo added, "He took, like, 12, 13 of my tracks, man. I think he recorded all of them, too. I just don't know if they're ever gonna see the light of day."

With Lamar rumored to be crafting his follow-up to good kid, m.A.A.d city, it's now possible that Flying Lotus could have multiple production credits on there, but there's no certainty. Hopefully we'll be able to hear these tracks he speaks of, in one way or another, but we'll just have to wait and see.

In more plausible news, look out for "Never Catch Me," the song from You're Dead! that features Lamar, to drop on or before the album's October 7th release date.
