Both Rick Ross' and Pharrell's new albums have been on the shelves for a week now, and so today we've received the first week sales for either LP. While we saw ScHoolboy Q and Kid Cudi fall slightly short of their projected sales, Mastermind and G I R L surpassed their projected sales.
Mastermind was projected to move 145,000-160,000 copies, but ended up doing 184,726 copies opening week, landing him the #1 debut on the Billboard 200. Pharrell Williams' G I R L was projected 85,000-90,000 and ended up selling 110,090 units and debuted right below Rozay at the #2 spot.
When it comes to Q and Cudder's placement on the Billboard 200, both rappers have fallen quite bit (Cudi more than Q) from their initial debut. Q dropped in sales by 78% while Cudi had an even more significant drop in sales, by 91%.
As well, Ashanti's Braveheart LP made its debut with 23, 196 units sold over the last seven days.
Did you cop either Mastermind or G I R L? What are your thoughts?
