Father's new track is the catchiest song about "throwing hands" in recent memory (and there's more out there than you'd think). The Atlanta rapper, who's been known to self-produce, outsources production from Meltycanon and ends up with an arrangement filled with shimmering chimes and jumping sub-bass. Father uses his reserved vocal approach with nimble precision, finding a comfortable pocket within the propulsive beat. The hypnotic pop-trap record is a far reach from the aggression its concept suggests, but it's all the better for it.
The rapper previously worked with Meltycanon on the standalone single "Heartthrob." Stream Father's I'm A Piece Of Shit project, which was released last March, here.
Quotable Lyrics:
Motorola, Toyota, Coca Cola
Since birth been a No Limit soldier
My momma told me I was the shit
Since then n---a, I been killin' it
Peelin' money, pushin' pedals, feelin' whips
Game Boy advance since I was a little n---a
Ay, fuckin' these hoes since I was a little n---a
