Fans know that Eminem barely has a grasp of any modern technology. In his Marshall Mathers LP 2 track "So Far," he basically admits that he has absolutely no idea what he's doing when it comes to computers, let alone social media. Therefore, when there's activity on one of Marshall Mather's social media platforms, it tends to be a no-bullshit, straight to the point announcement.
While the world has been clamoring for Em's upcoming album, the rapper has been more or less quiet on that front. He has, however, shared a comically bad photoshop of himself, sitting around a campfire with acoustic guitar in hand. Beneath, the words: "Camp Shady, Summer 17."
While this might look like single artwork for his Slim Shady LP skit "Lounge," it's actually an announcement for something new in "The Shady Shop." It's hard to speculate on what this might actually be, as Eminem keeps things notoriously close to the belt. However, it stands to reason that it will be new merchandise, as new music would probably not be announced in such a manner. What is interesting, however, is the whole Camp Shady motif, which begs the question, is this a hint of his next album's direction?
Speaking of which, Em's ninth studio album has yet to land a release date, but it is rumored to drop in the fall. We know the rapper has been working with 2 Chainz, Dr. Dre, Rick Rubin, and Fred Wreck, but honestly, little else.
