Westside Gunn and Conway are two of the most respected voices in underground rap. Now they're getting their shot: Eminem's Shady Records announced Friday afternoon that they had signed the Griselda Records rappers to a deal for solo and joint projects.
"The style and energy of Griselda Records, Gunn and Conway are infectious," Eminem said in a Shady Records press release. "We can’t wait to put them on the platform they have earned and deserve.”
“We’re bringing a new sound to the game, but it’s also reminiscent of the grimey 90’s,” Gunn added. “Art is in everything we do… it’s the essence. We’re fusing boom-bap/dark sounds with the hipster cool kid lifestyle. A new lane is being carved.”
In the intro of "MachineGun Black," Gunn and Conway's brand new Just Blaze-produced track, Eminem opines that Detroit and Buffalo are "kind of like long-lost cousins." Listen below.
