Dreezy released her debut album, No Hard Feelings, earlier this month, which featured the Chicago singer and rapper exploring everything from the heaviest of drill records to more traditional R&B slow jams. Much of the LP fell somewhere between the two extremes, as does Dreezy's new freestyle, "I Just Want You," which finds her taking on a beat built off of a sample from Miguel's "Simple Things," transforming the Wildheart singer's piercing tenor into a syrupy chopped & screwed refrain. After letting the sample breathe for the first minute, Dreezy enters with some slick bars directed at an ex-lover, picking up where the tales of complicated relationships on NHF left off. You can stream her new album on all major platforms. Check it out here.
Quotable Lyrics:
I show up at your doorstep like it's delivery
I call you back up, but you hang up
'Cause you ain't hearin' me
And no, I am not drunk
I may have had a cup of Hennessy
I'm just trynna roll a blunt and smoke away the memories
I Just Want You (Remix)
