You know Drake's about to take over all these impending year-end lists. Be prepared, troll or otherwise. It begins today, with the release of Spotify's Year in Music lists, which round up some of the most-streamed artists on their worldwide platform.
The 75 million listeners that make up Spotify were listening to a whole lot of Drizzy this year, as he was the world's most streamed artist in 2015, with 1.8 billion streams this year. Rihanna is the most streamed female artist, although still no signs of ANTI. Ed Sheeran takes the cake as the most streamed of all time on Spotify (and the most streamed UK artist), nabbing the spot from former title holder Eminem. Sheeran has more than 3 billion streams to his name.
Justin Bieber racked up the most streams in a single day, with 36 million streams on November 13th, and later he went on to claim most album streams in a week with the release of Purpose. Nonetheless, The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness was the most streamed album of the year.
