Jewelry problems and rappers seem to go hand-in-hand. The latest rapper to encounter legal trouble from his jeweler is Toronto native Drake.
Drake's OVO label is known for its owl logo, something which Drizzy decided to make a chain out of, hiring Baden Baden Inc. to create it. The company, owned by designer Michael Raphael, claims in a new lawsuit that Drake hired them to make a custom diamond-studded platinum owl pendant back in January, and forked over $49,204 for it.
In June Baden Baden Inc. noticed copies of their chain design popping up on Drake's Instagram. They claim that Drake took their original design and copied it, creating replicas for his friends.
The company is suing for copyright infringement, seeking unspecified damages. They are asking that Drake hand over all the copy chains.
