Everyone needs more female rappers in their lives. And no not the Iggy Azalea kind. Enter, Donmonique, a female from Brooklyn, who, although only rapping seriously for about a year, sounds extremely polished (and very New York).
After getting some buzz with tracks like "Pilates" and "We Don't," we're pleased to premiere her latest cut, the gritty "Jada." Ferg's "Doe-Active" producer Stelios Phili handles the beat, while Donmonique gets inspired by the movie "Set It Off."
She tells us of the record, "I wanted to give my audience something totally different than what I have out now. I can make fun music, but when it's time to spit some bars, I'm on that too. This track is a little taste of what's going to be on my tape coming this summer, and it's also one of my favorites. It was produced by the amazing Stelios Phili who also has other tracks on the tape."
Stay tuned for that mixtape, we'll be sure to have it on HNHH. Let us know what you think of Donmonique.
