Six months ago, De La Soul set the release date for their Kickstarter-funded album And the Anonymous Nobody: April 29th. This morning, the storied Queens trio announced that they are pushing back the release date to August 26.
“We have a lot of featured artists on this album," the group wrote in a letter to their 11,000 Kickstarter backers. "So with that being said, we have to get permission from their labels, and that takes a little bit of time. As well as our attorneys speaking with their attorneys and drawing up agreements and contracts,” they wrote.
They also announced that they would release their first single, "Pain" feat. Snoop Dogg this summer. As a token of gratitude, they shared 4-track EP called For Your Pain & Suffering. Check it out y'all.
