Very soon after a huge weekend for "Straight Outta Compton," it's become apparent that the film will set off a wave of additional rap biopics in Hollywood. The film has proven to studio executives that the genre can in fact be more profitable than, say, the movie "Notorious" was, and now rappers seem to be clamoring to get their stories told on the big screen. Earlier this week, Master P announced he was casting a film about his and No Limit's rise to fame, and now Dogg Pound veteran Daz Dillinger claims that a "Straight Outta Compton" "sequel, of sorts" is in the works.
Speaking to TMZ, Daz said the film will mostly follow Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Warren G and himself, and is tentatively titled "Dogg Pound 4 Life." Dr. Dre and Ice Cube won't be involved in the production side of things this time, but Daz said Cube gave the film his "stamp of approval."
Do you think it can live up to the quality of its predecessor?
