At the beginning of March, Fat Joe and Remy Ma, with assistance from French Montana, took back the New York sound real quick. Their collaborative single, "All the Way Up" has been buzzing ever since, and the remixes are just starting to pour in. New Yorkers are taking on the beat first, unsurprisingly, with Boogz Boogetz dropping his own mix last week, and today, Mass Appeal-signed Dave East releases his "EastMix."
It's hard to do wrong over such a smooth instrumental, the saxophone melody alone could carry this beat. Nonetheless Dave East's stab at it is strong, while he keeps verses from the original intact. Take a listen and let us know how this stacks up to the original.
Quotable Lyrics
Throwin paper all night and I ain't even try to touch it
Got with Esco off a mixtape, ain't touch the budget
Versace bucket, cause my housing used to be public
I cleaned up, dirty n*gga, used to be rugged
Tryna catch up, get beat, DJ Mustard
