Dave East is an emerging rapper out of New York, known for his affiliation with Dipset. East comes out of Spanish Harlem, an area he paid tribute to in his recent track, "Welcome To NY (Freestyle)".
East has already collaborated with the likes of Raven Sorvino, Los Rakas, Maffew Ragazino, Young Chris, Roscoe Dash, and Jime Jones, among others, and his profile continues to rise.
His new Tune Squad-produced record keeps with hardened New York sound, which is built off of a menacing string sample. It almost sounds like a direct descendant to Cam'ron's Purple Haze banger, "Get 'Em Girls", and East displays a similar knack for multi-syllabic punchlines as Killa Cam.
Look out for the rapper's Black Rose project, coming soon.
Quotable lyrics:
I had my eyes on the preacher's wife
Devil got my conscience
How the fuck I'm 'pposed to sleep at night
I remember nights
I wasn't eatin' right
Smokin' so much sour
Wasn't breathing right
