Childish Gambino's album because the internet had some impressive first week sales, and while his ambitious and conceptual rollout for the album seemed to be quite successful, he's apparently having trouble getting his label on the same page.
Taking to Twitter today, Gambino expressed frustration with his current label situation with Glassnote, explaining that the video and blog plans for "Sweatpants" did not work out to his satisfaction.
He then says that many promises made by the label never came to fruition, and that he feels he's constantly being lied to.
At one point, the rapper actually requests that labels like Def Jam and Atlantic (who he suggests showed interest after seeing his first week sales count) buy him out of his contract.
