Local hero Chance The Rapper made a special announcement in his hometown of Chicago, Friday afternoon. The emcee launched the Chance Arts And Literature Fund for Chicago public schools (CPS) in need.
Chano said he is collaborating with the Children's First Fund to "bring arts program and materials to schools that have experienced a decrease in five-year graduation rates, experienced budget cuts, lack of textbooks and are without music or arts programs."
He also took the opportunity to announce that the NBA Chicago Bulls donated $1 million to CPS. "Shout to to Jimmy Butler, Dwayne Wade and Rajon Rondo," he said.
Many other people and companies donated as well including Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun, Hannibal Buress and Skyzone . His organization has been able to raise $2.2 million for CPS so far. Chance had already donated $1 million following a disappointing meeting with the Illinois Governor.
